Villetta Girasole is a beautiful property situated on a hillside overlooking the quaint village of Meina and the southern shores of captivating Lake Maggiore. This villa rental on Lake Maggiore has its own lovely, well-tended garden and shares a pool with the helpful, English-speaking owners, who live in a separate home behind. The pool (open from Easter to September 30) has a lake view and a relaxing terrace with sun beds, umbrellas and a BBQ. The natural forest adjacent to the property provides oppotunities for early morning strolls. A short walk downhill is the charming village of Meina, replete with grocery shops, restaurants and local cafes. Access to the property is via a paved road and remote controlled gates. There is a garage as well as outdoor, on-site parking. Centrally located in Italy's Lake District, the Villetta is a superb option for those intending to explore this magical area of Italy. Please note, there is a friendly dog (German Shepard) on the property and children between the ages of 1 - 10 years are not allowed.

Peaceful and private, Villetta Girasole is comprised of two floors - the upper for guests and the lower occupied by the owner's son. Entry into the bright and spacious (175 sqm) apartment is through a private front door, leading in to a nicely appointed living/dining area. The open, beautifully designed and well-equipped kitchen (oven, stove, fridge/freezer, dishwasher) is a treat for any level of chef. If desired, meals can be enjoyed outside on the large terrace via direct access just off the living/dining area. The three roomy bedrooms (two with queen beds and one with twins) are equipped with satellite TV, large picture windows and gorgeous views of the lake. Two of the bedrooms have sizable ensuite bathrooms. The Villetta has been thoughtfully and lovingly decorated with a mixture of contemporary and antique furniture. Additional amenities include Internet access, local and emergency calls, a washing machine and two hours of maid service Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.

Of the six main lakes in Italy's "Regione dei Laghi", Lake Maggiore is arguably its most famous. Know for its legendary beauty, both majestic and wild, and for the Borromean Islands within its shores, Lake Maggiore enjoys a constant mild climate and an abundance of luxuriant and exotic vegetation. Along the western shore, and not far from Villetta Girasole, is the notable resort and ski town of Stresa. The lovely waterfront promenade hosts the Grande Hotel des Borromees, featured in Hemingway's "A Farewell to Arms", and numerous restaurants and cafes ranging from the expensive to the affordable.
