The house lies above the Statale road that leads to Switzerland, which is a 15-minute car ride away. It is approximately 1-hour drive from the Malpensa International Airport in Milan. There is a tiny market 50 yards from the house that carries basic supplies and there is great shopping and restaurants in the quaint little town of Pallanza and Intra, which are five minutes away by car. The famous botanical gardens of Villa Taranto are also 5 minutes drive from the house. The house sits right below a national park of Val Grande so that there are miles of hiking in well-maintained trails overlooking the Lake. Lake Maggiore is a beautiful lake with plenty of beautiful sites and gardens to visit.

The house was an old stone barn that was restructured 25 years ago and thoroughly remodeled in 2006. It has travertine marble floors throughout the house except the 4 bedrooms that have wood floors. Three of the bedrooms have Queen size beds and one bedroom has two twin beds. The kitchen and 2 bathrooms are also new. One bathroom is located upstairs and one bathroom is on the main floor. Outdoors is a large garden and parking for up to three vehicles.
