Villa Pastoral is a beautiful and charming 17th century Tuscan stone home located at the entrance of a small hamlet set in one of the untouched areas of the Tuscan countryside near Siena. Recently restored, this three story home has been divided into four lovely apartments, each self contained and all with access to the well appointed and spacious common areas on the ground floor. Villa Pastoral sleeps a total of sixteen people and is pertect for a group who wish to holiday together but still retain their individual privacy. At the back of the house, guests have access to their own private garden and will also find the swimming pool (open from May 1 to September 30). Surrounded by a large terrace and furnished with table and chairs, guests will find this area perfect for an evening of outdoor dining and entertaining. Also at the guests\' disposal is a grassy area with a volleyball net, a barbeque, four mountain bikes, table tennis, swing and a mini-gym.

The ground floor consists of a spacious dining/living area with a French door leading out to the terrace, a kitchen (with stove, oven, microwave oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine) and a TV room. The four apartments are located upstairs; two on the first floor and two on the second. Each apartment consists of a living room with a kitchen corner (with stove, oven and a fridge/freezer) and double sofa bed; one double bedroom (with queen size bed); one bathroom with shower. All the apartments have traditional features such as brick ceilings with beams and terracotta floors. Each is furnished with a pleasant mix of contemporary and antique furniture in a classic Tuscan country style. A crib is available upon request. NB: Price is based on occupany of 8 people. Villa Pastoral is conveniently located for visits to Siena and for exploration of the magnificent wooded countryside between Chiusdino, Massa Marittima and the Tuscan coast. The numerous villages in the area offer many good restaurants, the nearest within walking distance. Also nearby is the enchanting Abbey of San Galgano. Villa Pastoral is perfect for those visitors looking for the classic Tuscan experience.

The place was magnificent. I can't begin to tell you what a wonderful place it was and what a great experience we had there. The little Italian lady that owns the property (a family affair) had baked us a huge cake and her son had a nice bottle of wine for us. She spoke not a word of English but my little bit of Italian made us able to communicate. If I ever go back to Italy I would just go there and hang out for a couple of weeks - the country was gorgeous. When we left our hostess had a basket of homemade candy she gave to us and told us we had only been there a week but felt like family. We felt the same way. We felt we had stayed in an updated castle for a week.
