Villa "La Contessa" is a perfect venue for an unforgettable stay in the heart of Tuscany. Located 35 kms south of Siena in the \'Crete\', the building dates back to the 17th century. It was most likely used as a stop-over for travellers on their way to Montalceto (a nearby hot spring). Villa La Contessa is perched on a hill overlooking the countryside and the towns of Siena, Montalcino and Mount Amiata. Still owned by descendants of the original nobility, this magnificent villa was under renovation from 1995 to 2000 and is now available for rent. It\'s interiors feature open-beamed ceilings, frescoes and is furnished with fine collectible antiques. Guests will not only be able to enjoy the beautiful and comfortable interior, but also the fine gardens and the large swimming pool with plenty of outdoor furniture. The Villa is part of a huge working farm famous for rare white truffles and extra virgin olive oil.

SUNDAY TO SUNDAY RENTAL DURING HIGH SEASON

This magnificent villa has nine bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, sleeping a total of 20 people (two of the nine bedrooms can accommodate three guests). The villa features a large dining room, a living room with fireplace, and a reading room. The spacious grounds invite guests to enjoy the views while entertaining outdoors as well. In addition to the villa, there is a restored barn that that is located in the garden and has been made into an apartment with two bedrooms with ensuite baths, jacuzzi, a living room with fireplace, a kitchen and a dining area. The villa plus the apartment can sleep up to 24 people.

Villa La Contessa is in a perfect location for seeing all of Tuscany. The wines regions of Chianti, Brunello and Nobile are only a half hour drive, and the sea is within 130 kms. Cooking classes can be organized upon request, please ask us for details.

NOTE: there is air condionning in all rooms of the main villa and the dependance.

We had to take a moment to thank you for an incredible week at villa la La Contessa. We all had a truly memorable time and the owner's hospitality was outstanding! He made us feel like family the entire time we were there! The staff was very friendly with always a smile on their faces. Not to mention the most delicious food they prepared for us.
