Villa David is a lakefront villa to rent located 10 kilometers north of Menaggio, on the northwest shore of Lake Como. The villa is located in a unique setting and provides access to the beach. The property includes private parking for 6 cars behind the house, covered swimming pool, a large panoramic terrace that offers breathtaking views of the lake and the surrounding mountains. The house can accommodate 12-14 people.*
Villa David, with its spacious and brightly decorated interior is the ideal holiday home for large parties. It consists of two floors (each 300 sq. m.). In the large terrace (45 meters x 8 meters) there is a swimming pool (5x3), covered with a gorgeous glass, heated from the second week of May till the third week of September; during the other seasons, it can be heated, if required, with an extra cost.

Villa David has air conditioning in all of the bedrooms except the two single bedrooms. The rest of the house is not air conditioned.
Villa David has 5 double bedrooms, 2 single bedrooms, one twin bedroom, (all bedrooms have air conditioning except the 2 singles) and 5 bathrooms. There is a large living room, and a dining room with a table for 12 people. Please note that there is an additional en suite bedroom that can be used upon request. On the ground floor: A living room with 3 comfortable sofas, TV (satellite), DVD player, and the Internet corner. The wall facing the lake has large French doors opening to the spacious panoramic terrace. (350 sq. m.!!). This floor also features a fully appointed kitchen and a large dining room with a table for 12 people. On this floor there are also 2 half bathrooms.

The village and its shops are about 600m from the property. The nearest golf course, tennis court, and equestrian club are 10 km away in Menaggio.
The Lake of Como and in particular the northern zone of the lake is renowned in all of Europe as an excellent sailing area. This is the most-windy area of the lake and the most unspoiled. The Breva, a temperate breeze of the Lake of Como, blows during the afternoons. This breeze guarantees enjoyment for sailing, windsurfing or kite-surfing.
The area offers numerous alpine destinations and several trekking and mountain bike trails.

16 of my family members traveled from USA for a wedding in Lake Como. We had an amazing time at Villa David. The house is absolutley beautiful old villa, in lovely shape and was perfect size for such a big group. The location is on the upper north west side of Lake Como in a little hamlet clalled Painello del Lario. This is a quiet little town, with a few pretty good restaurants you can walk to. The villa is located directly on the lake, with public walkway right outside the gate, that circumvents a bit part of the lake (about 6 miles). Iolanda, the Villa Manager was the show stopper! This woman gave us the best service I've ever had at a rental villa. She is not only super nice and professional, not one request went un attended, no request too small. She handled everything from last minute boat taxi's, restaurant reservations, food and wine delivery, catering, in villa PASTA cooking class (big recomend!!) and airport transfers. While we were there, there was a HOT heat wave. She ensured we had extra fans and all airconditioning was functioning (which was an unexpected releif!). One day I forgot to lock the gate, and she went back to lock it for me!
A few things to be aware of. The location of Pianello del Lario is a gorgeous and quiet part of the lake. In my opionon, the best beaches (but remember lake shoes, those rocks are hard on feet). It is fairly far from the most notable tourist locations on Como. There is one small store, but remember they close for "siesta". Not great for a last minute meal necessity. Taxis and boat transfers are expensive. And Taxi's are hard to schedule. Uber just arrived, and we used it, but it is not reliable yet (hopefully that will improve with time). The closest big town is Mennaggio, which is about 20 min costing $55 one way by way taxi. Boat taxis to anywhere on lake are $400 one way ($800 round trip), Como is very expensive $1000 round trip. It may make sense to have your own rental car, but beware, the streets are very narrow, and difficult to drive, and constant road construction. Also parking is very hard to find.

Thanks to you, the Parker family found the Villa David on the banks of Lake Como as our vacation home. It was the perfect place for the reunion of our daughters, Maggie and Emily, plus our exchange daughters,Cristina of Spain and Renata of Brazil. They and their families had a joyous week together with their husbands and children who have now begun a tradition of friendship among themselves. And we parents looked on with pleasure.The villa was lovely in every way: comfortable bedrooms, spacious dining room where we enjoyed dinner together every night, taking turns cooking Italian, Spanish, Brazilian and American food; the children loved the pool; and we had limitless ideas of things to do and see. Thank you for yourhelp in making this a memorable week for us, and a special thanks to Daniela who made the difference in a nice week and a very nice week.She was helpful beyond expectation and a jewel. And a special thanks as well to Emanuela who produced a fabulous dinner of local specialities. The Villa was incredible, even more amazing than the pictures…. Like living the lifestyle of the rich and famous, for a week! What a location! Probably the most beautiful place on the most beautiful lake anywhere, with amazing mountains everywhere. Great kitchen and dining room, and breakfast/lunch on the terrazzo With a view of the lake is very special. The Villa manager, Daniella was very helpful, and the tour of the boat museum next door, should not be missed. A very memorable 60th birthday treat for me and our family.
