Villa Como occupies one of the most panoramic positions on Lake Como with views over the three branches of the lake, including views of Bellagio. The villa is located on a hillside and sits on a huge 60 acre estate close to the castle of Vezio. The landscape is one of unique beauty. The view from the pool and the garden is breathtaking. The verdant over sized garden is planted with roses and olive trees. 500 meters from the villa there is a clay tennis court managed by a local club. The housekeeper\'s family lives in an independent apartment in the basement of the property, while at the back of the house there is a portion where the family of the owner lives when in residence.

The entrance to the ground floor of Villa Como is through a patio/pergola which has lovely views and can be used for \"al fresco\" dining. There is a small sitting room, and fully equipped kitchen with dining area. Outside there is a bathroom with a shower for the pool.

On the second floor is one room with 1 Queen bed, two bedrooms with 2 twin beds (can be made into Queen), and one bedroom with 1 single bed (this bedroom has no door and opens directly into the passage). The two bathrooms both have tubs. A study completes this floor. Large windows open to the garden making for a bright and airy interior. The patio is furnished with table and chairs for outdoor dining.

Varenna is a wonderful lake shore town on Lake Como. Built on a rocky promontory it was for centuries a sentinel at the heart of the lake. Today Varenna is a quietly refined town with beautiful old houses and romantic panoramas. The climate is particularly mild, as witnessed by the presence of olive and cypress trees together with other botanical specimens normally found in much warmer climates. Along the lakefront is a romantic walkway abounding in flora, and linking the town center to Olivedo, the landing point for ferries and steamers. Varenna is the ideal starting point for a visit to the northern/central part of Italy and the southern Swiss Alps. It is less then two hours from the Milano Malpensa airport and 1 hour from the Milano Linate airport. Places to visit: The castle of Vezio (5 minutes walking distance from the villa); the gardens of Villa Monastero, a neo-classical garden offering a long walk along the lakeshore. Bellagio and Menaggio are 15 minutes by ferry; Tremezzo and the famous Villa Carlotta; Como with its ancient monuments and churches, and its shopping area are all within easy reach. Varenna is a 10 minute drive here you will find shops, restaurants, ferry and railroad station with connections to Menaggio and Bellagio via ferry. The railroad station in Varenna connects you to Milano by train in one hour. There is a golf course in Menaggio (15 minutes by ferry plus 10 by car).
