Apartment Luna Pietra has a dramatic and spacious living/dining area with beamed ceiling and expansive wood flooring. There is a dining table for six and plenty of comfortable furniture, including a sofa bed for two additional guests. The fully furnished kitchen includes a stove, oven, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, and washing machine. The apartment offers two spacious and comfortable bedrooms; one with a king bed and one with two twin beds. The two tiled bathrooms are equipped one each with a shower and a bathtub.
Venice is divided into seven districts, each with its own ambience: San Marco in the center, Cannaregio to the north, San Polo and Santa Croce to the west, Dorsoduro along the southwestern shore, Castello along the eastern shore, and Giudecca to the south. Apartment Luna Pietra is located in the San Marco district near the Palazzo Grassi Museum, San Marco Square and Basilica, the Doge’s Palace, and Accademia Bridge. The vaperetto stop is San Samuele/Accademia.
Venice is one of the great renaissance cities in Italy; it boasts exceptional museums and many interesting historic sites to visit. Located in the region of Veneto on the northeastern Italian coast, Venice is literally 100 islands connected by bridges and laced with canals. The islands themselves are car-free; you can get around Venice either on foot or by canal transportation. There is a two-mile long causeway (with highway and train lines) that links Venice to the mainland at the town of Mestre. Parking is easy to find in Mestre, or there are parking lots on the edge of Venice where the highway ends. Shuttle trains regularly connect Mestre’s station to Venice’s Santa Lucia station (about 10 minutes.) Other towns of interest in the Veneto region include Padua, Ravenna, Vicenza, and Verona, all easily accessible by train. The most famous Venetian festival is Carnevale (equivalent to Mardi Gras in the US), which takes place in late January/early February.
