Description
This estate is located on a hilltop and overlooks all the nearby valleys that extend as far as your eye can see. The History of this estate goes back as far as 970 AD. The estate lies beside the provincial road to Volterra. The valleys of Elsa, Evola and Era all join here. This spot also marks the boundary between three old \"contradi\" in the municipalities of Pisa, Florence and Volterra. \" La Castagnetta\" which once belonged to the Bishop of Volterra, is composed of several buildings of historical and artistic importance; the most beautiful one is the manor house (Villa Marchese) with its typical Tuscan architecture. \"Villa Marchese\" is completely private with its own pool. The apartments for guests are in three other buildings that make up the hamlet. All the apartments have just been renovated, redecorated, and refurnished delightfully, maintaining the original Tuscan spirit and architecture. The several acres of ground the property offers include a private terrace or garden area for each apartment, a forest and a large 20x10 m pool with excellent views of the rolling hills of Tuscany. Above all, \" La Castagnetta\" is located in the heart of Tuscany, only 10 kms from San Gimignano and 65 kms from Florence. It is a delightful site and a great base to explore numerous nearby gems.
\"La Castagnetta 4\" used to be the school in the hamlet. It consists of a living/dining room, a kitchen area, three bedrooms with queen size beds and three bathrooms with shower. This apartment has its own large private terrace. There is a laundry room on the estate available for all guests. Pictures shown on this page are of one apartment and you may not stay in the exact same apartment. Tennis, golf and horse riding are available 8 kms from the estate.
