This grand villa is set in the green historic countyside of Siena and perched upon the hill of Montesiepi. It lies between the Abbey of San Galgano and the Chapel of Montesiepe, where the legendary Sword in the Stone is kept. The Chapel of Montesiepi is a very famous spot in Italy, much frequented by tourists coming to see the Sword in the Stone, and is especially popular for weddings. As guests of this enchanting place you are sure to appreciate its historical and religious origins. Therefore, please note, a service is celebrated in the church every Sunday from 11:00/11:30 to 12:00/12:30. Within those hours we kindly ask you to keep any noise to a minimum. This villa, originally conceived as a convent, was built around the same period as the adjacent Romanesque Church of Montesiepe. Much later it came to be used for civil purposes. The owners have since restored the building, respecting the original structure but also keeping with the expectations of the modern age. The momentous doorway gives way to a double staircase leading to the spacious terrace above, from which one can admire views in every direction, or by night the vision of the illuminated Cistercian Abbey. One could also take a swim in the private pool or simply enjoy the relaxation of open air living. Parking as the property is completely private with its own parking area. The village of Monticiano is nearby where you can discover restaurants, bars, a supermarket, and bank. The seaside is only 45 kms away.
GROUND FLOOR: Bathroom, a kitchen with modern appliances (oven, stove, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher), and the spacious living/dining room with French doors leading to the garden where the pool is located.
FIRST FLOOR: Spacious living/dining room with a sofa and armchairs in front of a fireplace, another well-equipped kitchen (oven, stove, fridge/freezer, dishwasher), a main double bedroom along with a twin bedroom that share a shower-bathroom with a small bath. There is another double bedroom with ensuite shower-bathroom, and a second twin bedroom with two panoramic windows and ensuite shower-bathroom. Fourteen steps from the first floor lead to a double bedroom and bathroom with a shower. At the guests disposal is a security box, telephone/fax, satellite TV, CD player, and Internet access.
From the garden there is access to a nice studio apartment with a double bedroom, small kitchen corner (2 electric plates, fridge, dishwasher), a fireplace, and a bathroom with shower.
