Description
Casa di Tranquillita is located on the second largest of the Aeolian Islands, the volcanic island of Salina. Behind it stands the Dei Porri mountain, and in front of it stands the two volcanic islands of Alicudi and Filicudi which rise above the horizon.
The house is surrounded by rich flora and has wonderful ocean views.
The interior decoration of the house features exposed beamed ceilings, wooden furniture from the region, local blue tiling and wrought iron. In fact, guests will probably spend most of their time on the beautiful covered sun terrace, enjoying the simple but substantial country life, the breathtaking view of the volcanic mountains and the azure blue sea. Or perhaps you will prefer to relax by the old olive tree, the centerpiece of the courtyard that has an open fireplace. Sun worshipers can relax on the bay of Pollara, which is easy to reach via a short path.

Salina, fascinating and reserved island standing in the middle of the Aeolian archipelago, is made up of two - so far extinct - volcanoes: Monte Fossa delle Felci (the Mount \"Pit of the Ferns\") and Monte dei Porri (the Mount of the Leeks). The island
inspired the Italian actor and director Massimo Troisi who set in these settings his last movie, \"Il Postino\" (The Postman).
