Description
Ideally located in the heart of sunny Provence resides Chateau Ventoux, the gracious and elegant estate of an 18th century Marquis. Dating back to 1732, the Chateau currently produces its own delicious red wine (AOC Cotes du Ventoux) and sits among 75 beautiful park-like acres. Carefully restored and renovated, the current owners have tastefully decorated the Chateau with a pleasing melange of antiques and local handicrafts. Guests will thoroughly enjoy the well-maintained grounds, dotted with chairs and tables throughout, and the two-tiered, spring-fed swimming pool. Apartment Marquis is one of two apartments available on the Chateau grounds. It is comfortably modern, with all amenities, yet imbued with the charm of history. The nearby towns of Carpentras, Avignon, St. Remy, Orange and Chateauneuf-du-Pape offer plenty of day trip options, and make a stay at Apartment Marquis the perfect locale for a memorable vacation.

Characteristic flavoring ingredients include garlic (the "truffle of Provence"), tomatoes, olive oil and aromatic herbs such as basil, rosemary and fennel. Well-known regional dishes include Bouillabaisse, or fish stew, always made with rascasse (a type of local fish) and various other local seafoods. Ratatouille, Salade Nicoise and Soupe au Pistou are a few more culinary delights indicative of the region. Paired with a glass of full bodied Cotes du Rhone or a refreshing Rose from Bandol and you have a meal made in heaven.
