Description

Manoir Bayeux is a luxurious 18th century mansion set in the historical heart of Bayeux in Normandy. It\'s a 5-minute walk from the medieval Notre Dame Cathedral, restaurants, cafes, shops, and the famous Bayeux Tapestry. Surrounded by a large, quiet enclosed garden, the Manoir is composed of two independent houses; The spacious Mansion House (approx. 360 sqm) and The Loft, which can accommodate up to 18 people combined. The Loft is an ancient cart-shed converted into a cozy house with spacious rooms. The estate has maintained its authentic spirit with exposed beamed ceilings and soaring wooden vaults.

Bayeux is a sought-after destination close to world-famous historical sites such as the Landing Beaches of Omaha and Utah, the floating Mulberry harbors (Pontons) of Arromanches, and the Caen Memorial museum. You can also easily reach other notable tourist places such as Deauville, Cabourg, Honfleur, or the renowned Mont-Saint-Michel, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Hello Emmanuel,

I just wanted to let you know how happy we were with this rental where we stayed the beginning of June.  As Catherine opened the huge doors in the walls leading to the property, I caught a glimpse of the climbing roses that were blooming on the side of the house, and it immediately struck me that this place was so much more beautiful than it had appeared in the pictures.  It just got better from there, and our family loved every minute of our time in this special house.  We were also tickled to find the secret garden area at the back of the property and also the little vignette room on the top floor that depicted a WWII scene - neither of which were mentioned anywhere in the descriptions, which made the discoveries that much more fun.  We had a wonderful time in Bayeux, and we loved our tour guide from Overlord who picked us up in a great mini-bus for touring for two days.  (They were the only company who could accommodate our size group - 11 - in one vehicle.)  We also had Francois Laurent come and cook for us our last night there, and what a treat that was!  Such a great end to our stay there.

So, thank you for all the coordinating on your end over the past two years, through Covid and the rescheduling that had to take place.  We appreciated all your efforts and will recommend you to others!

My dad has been preparing this trip for a long time, it’s the trip of his life and he wanted us to be there too for the 75th anniversary of the DDay. We were lucky to find the Manoir Bayeux which is the perfect place for such a stay. The house is right in the city center of Bayeux and very close to all the celebration spots : Omaha and Utah Beach, the Colleville Cemetery, Sainte Mère l’Eglise and the museums dedicated to this episode of the war. We had a great time at the Manoir and won’t forget it.

Having passed through here 3 years ago, we decided to return to beautiful Bayeux with our children and grandchildren. All of our grandfathers fought in WWII, and one landed here on Utah Beach. We reviewed our history, toured the sights in Normandy and toured all the museums. You can’t imagine our delight and amazement here at the Manoir, with all your special treasures and delights. We so enjoyed this beautiful home with all of its special appointments. We relaxed in the luxurious surroundings and returned from our busy days to the peaceful tranquility of your gardens. Our family has so thouroughly enjoyed our time here that no one wanted to leave. However we leave with wonderful memories in our hearts and a vow to return.Merci beaucoup. Nous revenons !

We have had an amazing stay in this wonderful house. It is quiet and peaceful, set in lovely gardens yet within walking distance from the Cathedral, the Tapestry and good restaurants. We found that it was an ideal base to visit the WW2 sites and museums and to discover the many beautifu surrounding villages. Our holiday more than exceeded our expectations ! Thank you.

What an extraordinary week ! As the chef de cuisine, I loved cooking in this well stocked kitchen !I think I used every pan, dish and utensil ! But… the history of this place is overwhelming- from the earliest time to WW2, we were surrounded by evidence that people are so resilient. We were humbled by the generosity and welcome given to us wherever we traveled beautiful Normandie. Thank you for making our stay so comfortable.

Thank you so much for sharing this gem of a home with us in this beautiful city. We almost didn’t want to leave during our days because it is so cosy and well-equipped. From enjoying croissants and doughnuts around the table every morning to swinging and running in the yard every night, we treasure every moment we had here. We also look forward to our next visit. Au revoir et merci.

We have had a wonderful time here with 3 generations of our family, paying our respects to the heroes of 1944. We have toured the beautiful countryside and explored the city of Bayeux but ran out of time so will be returning. Thank you for a lovely house and garden. The robin came to visit each meal time !!

Thank you very much for sharing this special home with us. We loved the history all around us which really enhanced our appreciation for the events of WWII. The D-Day tour was a real highlight-teaching us so much. The dinner with chef François was such a treat-any family staying here should sign up for this treat. What a great way to end 6 days in Bayeux !
