Where do you want to go?
Casa Bravissima is a recently, delightfully restored villa that instantly displays that old, rustic charm. This villa is located in the heart of the beautiful Tuscany countryside with olive groves and vineyards grown on the property by the owner. He produces and sells the excellent olive oil and wine right from the aged cellar. The villa dates back to 1751, with this date written on the original stone plaque mounted on the front of the villa.
The villa is divided into two apartments and they are completely independent of the other, including separate entrances. They both have a cozy, comfy feel to them, with open beam ceilings, traditional archways and old terracotta floors as well as ceiling tiles. They are comfortably furnished with a mixture of antiques and contemporary furniture. The villa has been in the family of the present owner since the early 1900's. They have taken great pride in restoring, redecorating and maintaining it and their delight is felt throughout this pleasantly, inviting country home.
Brava is accessed through the main front entry of the villa. Upon entering the lst floor of the villa you will find a charmingly decorated living room with rustic fireplace and open beam ceilings, dining room and fully functional kitchen which includes a stone sink, stove, oven, refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher. As you follow a long hallway you will find two bedrooms attractively furnished with antique twin beds, which are easily converted into double beds if desired. There is one full bathroom with shower that accommodates the two bedrooms nicely. Dining al fresco among the olive trees is made possible by the garden furniture and BBQ made available to the guests.
The city of Lucca attracts tourists from around the world to its historic sights. The Duomo Cathedral, St. Michael's Church and the streets and squares of Old Town are favorite destinations. A three mile series of ramparts, complete with eleven bastions and four gateways was erected around the city in the 16th and 17th centuries for protection. It's fun for the energetic to walk the length of this wall.
Here in the heart of one of many wine-producing areas of Italy, your home-away-from-home is an ideal location for short jaunts to the most renowned sites of Tuscany. Florence is less than an hour away by car, and Forte dei Marmi for golf and the famous beaches of the Medtiterranean only a half hour. Pietrasanta, the artists' town is a must see. Pisa and Carrara and the Michelangelo marble caves are nearby as well.
