This is authentic Paris at its most classically sophisticated. Luxembourg Elegance, perfectly located just steps from both the St Sulpice church and the glorious Luxembourg Gardens, occupies the entire second floor of a historic 17th-century Parisian building and can welcome up to six guests in 3 well appointed bedrooms. The apartment is 100m2 or 1076 Sq. Ft. and is located on the 2.5 floor. There is no elevator in this building.
Upon entering the building through striking 18-ft double doors, which have received the title of "monument historique" themselves, guests are greeted by a sweeping stone and wrought iron staircase, once photographed by Eugène Atget. Up 2.5 flights of stairs, St Sulpice Elegance awaits.
Built in 1690 and once inhabited by Robespierre, this Paris apartment rental is rich in history and was decorated with grandeur in mind. The flat is newly restored and features the elegance of parquet, antique furniture, and wood paneling alongside the convenience of a contemporary kitchen, air conditioning, modern appliances, and Wi-Fi throughout.
Through the entryway, guests will find the splendid living room, complete with original 17th-century stone and Cabochon floor flanking a large Aubusson rug, as well as a TV with cable, DVD player, and an
iPad/iBook dock with speaker. The living room also has a dining table that seats up to eight. Tall French windows and 12-foot ceilings allow plentiful light to stream into this opulent yet comfortable space.
The apartment boasts three bedrooms, each of which is located just off the living room and features wood paneling, internal wooden shutters, original parquet, Aubusson rugs, luxurious Hypnos mattresses, and individual climate controls.
The quiet south-facing master bedroom looks out over the building’s internal courtyard and includes a “super king-size” Louis XV bed, Versailles parquet, decorative original 17th-century fireplace, desk, cable TV (set up upon request only), and an en suite bathroom with double sink, bath with rain shower, and toilet.
The second and third bedrooms are located just across the living room from the master and are separated by a lockable connecting door. Each has a wardrobe with hanging and shelf space for guests’ convenience. The second bedroom has a queen-size double-upholstered bed alongside an original decorative 17th-century fireplace. The adjoining third bedroom has a king-size bed that can be split into two singles. These two bedrooms share a bathroom, located just off the entryway, with sink, large walk-in shower, and toilet.
On the opposite side of the floor stands the kitchen area, fully equipped with a refrigerator/freezer with ice maker and water dispenser, state-of-the-art induction hob and electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, electric kettle, Nespresso machine, and juice maker. This area also houses the apartment’s washer/dryer.
Many of Paris’ major sights await just outside the St Sulpice Elegance apartment; the famous cafés of St Germain-des-Près are about a 5-minute walk and the river Seine is about 10 minutes away by foot. The nearest metro station is St Sulpice and the immediate area is also well served by buses. Three Vélib’ bicycle stations are also within walking distance, as are the best shopping areas, back-street restaurants, and cafés of the chic 6ème.

** This apartment has fragile antiques, as well as some delicate and expensive furniture. This could be difficult for families with small children. You would know best whether you would be comfortable having your children in this apartment.
**Old Parisian buildings are often poorly insulated, and at times you may hear sounds from the upstairs neighbor, which could be an inconvenience to those sensitive to noise. For those who require absolute quiet, this may not be the best property for your stay.
Nearby attractions include, Luxembourg Garden, St. Sulpice, Saint Germain des Pres, Notre Dame, Pantheon, Organic Market, Fitness center/gym, Bon Marche department store, Ile St. Louis, Bakeries, cheese shops, butcher, etc. The location could not be better!
