Casa Rio Maior is located in the Ribatejo region of Portugal in the rural town of Rio Maior. Built in the beginning of the 19th century (in the traditional style of the region), it has stayed in the same family for four generations. The house has been remodeled in order to better accommodate guests. There are seven bedrooms each with ensuite bathroom. In the garden there is a recreational area for guests to watch televison, read and play snooker. If it's refreshment you need, there is a swimming pool on the property. Only 20km away are wonderful beaches such as Nazare, S. Martinho do Porto, Lagoa de Obidos and Peniche. This area of Portugal has a rich history with many historical points of interest. It is also a region known for its cattle and horses. Twice a year people flock to nearby Vila Franca de Xira to watch the Tourada or bull-running and horsemanship. Each room can be rented individually and the rate includes breakfast served everyday. NB: Casa Rio Maior may also be rented as a whole and upon request ( see price below in charges ). The owner accepts rentals for less than a week and for a minimun of 5 days. The price will be prorated accordingly.
